Author of the two best-selling collections of short stories "A Couple of Days Without Gudny" 1997 (published in German translation "Schöne Tage ohne Gudny " in November 2001) and "Stolen from the Author of the Alphabet" 2002.

Personal:
Davíð Oddsson is born 17th January 1948 in Reykjavik. He is married to Mrs. Ástríður Thorarensen, born 20th October 1951, a Registered nurse from the Univeristy of Iceland. They have a son, Þorsteinn Davíðsson, born 12th November 1971, a lawyer from the University of Iceland.
